Can You Survive?

Ladies and Gentlemen! IT’S FINALLY HERE! The Official release date for Outlast II has been set for April 25, 2017! Personally this is on of my favorite game series. Outlast, Outlast: Whistleblower DLC and now Outlast II is here to continue the series. For those who don’t know about Outlast here’s a quick description to get you up to speed.

You’ve been warned

You begin the game as a reporter named, Miles Upshur, voiced by Shawn Baichoo. You received a very interesting and cryptic message from someone saying that Mount Massive Asylum is doing some terrible experiments on people and things need to exposed to the public and brought to the light. Upon entering the Asylum for the first time it doesn’t take long to get into the groove of being chased around by maniacs who want to rip off your head.

Meet Chris L. “Strongfat” Walker, voiced by Chimwemwe Miller, who is a very muscular man who’s predominant fixation is a Military Security Protocol. He claims that the flesh ripped from his forehead is for a greater vision, and the removal of his lips and nose along many other self-mutilation is due to his growing anxiety.

Upon of the arrival of Mount Massive you’re followed around by “The Priest” who believes you’ve been delivered to them on an act of God to save them from the terrible, “Walrider”.

This is Father Martin, voiced by Adreas Apergis, as he claims to be man of God but will do anything to the people living in the Asylum. His messages left for Miles include, “Follow the blood” and “Proclaim the Gospel”.

There’s a crazy doctor running around, and once you get wind of this you instantly become frightened of Doctor Rick Trager. He’s probably the best antagonist in the first game as his character, voiced by Alex Ivanovici as his character is brutally insane and terrifying.

He’s simply just experimenting and you’re in the way.

The next antagonist is a couple, and they’re cannibalistic brothers. Known as the Twins, and voiced by Alain Goulem and Neil Napier with their famous words, “His tongue and liver. Yours. Mine.” as in reference to first meeting Miles Upshur.

The main and most interesting creature that lives in Mount Massive Asylum is The Walrider. Experimented on as a patient Billy became every inmates worst nightmare. They have been known to experiment on sleeping patients to make the inmates dream danger and fear. This was called “Project Walrider” which was led by two scientists Doctor Wernicke and Doctor Alan Turing. Project Walrider was to create a monster built off of a host, William “Billy” Hope, to strengthen the being into a machine.

The definition of Whistleblower is a person who exposes any kind of information or activity that is deemed illegal, unethical, or not correct within an organization that is either private or public.

You open this DLC (Downloadable Content) as Waylon Park writing the original message that Miles receives. So we can guess at this point that Miles and Waylon are running amuck at the same time.

One of the best DLC in game in my opinion as it reveals the end of the first story as well as sets up for a second coming and holds my favorite antagonist ever. While experiencing people from the first one like Chris Walker, and the Priest Father Martin there’s a group of inmates that you come across that seem progressively worse than what Miles dealt with.

The first man is a cannibal, and he’s naked. That’s a deadly combo.

Meet Frank Antonio Manera, voiced by Edward Yankie, who claims Waylon’s flesh is deservedly his. His main form of cannibalism is to drink the blood of the person from their chest cavity. During testing phases he would not eat any nutrition as he only craved human flesh.

Next we have my favorite enemy in this series and along side many more.

Meet The Groom, voiced by Graham Cuthbertson, who is named Eddie Gluskin. Tested on in the first scene of the Whistleblower this guy has some serious issues with finding love. He believes that anyone can be his lover but if they’re of the male gender then he’s going to surgically change that because he craves a family. Waylon’s whole encounter is finding these obscene people who have been transformed and posed like art under his “Care” and they’re too graphic to show so I suggest trying the game. He walks around the game singing this terrifying song while trying to find you and you can listen to it below. Not only is he singing this tune but it’s pitch black with only minimal vision on your camera.

That leaves us with Outlast II and the premise is “You are Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with your wife, Lynn. The two of you are investigative journalists willing to take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch. You’re following a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe. The investigation has lead you miles into the Arizona desert, to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.”

They decided to not only release the game but release a trinity version with all three games. Outlast, Outlast: Whistleblower and Outlast II.

I am assuming the price will be your typical $60.00 USD so we’ll see when it releases! We can’t forget the epic trailer either!
